How's the weather here

Kuttanad through the seasons

Kuttanad's climate is shaped by its backwaters — plan your visit around whichever season suits you.

Dec – Feb
20–32°C

Winter: mild, pleasant, and lower humidity — the easiest season for a full day out on deck.

Mar – May
30–35°C+

Summer: hot and humid. Light clothing, water, and shade or A/C between excursions.

Jun – Sep
Monsoon

Heavy rain feeds Kuttanad's lush greenery. Frequent showers — bring rain gear and grippy footwear.

Oct – Nov
25–32°C

Post-monsoon: cooler, comfortable, and one of the most pleasant times to see the backwaters.

Weather patterns vary year to year — check a local forecast before you travel, and pack light breathable clothing, sunscreen and rain gear regardless of season.
